Overview

Wayne J. Harsha, MD, was raised in a rural South Carolina cotton-mill town. He received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Furman University with Cum Laude honors. From there, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army through the Reserve Officer’s Training Corps before completing medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Harsha completed his residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center and a fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

Dr. Harsha joined the teaching faculty at the Madigan Army Medical Center and became the Chair of the Specialty Care Quality Management Group, ENT Clinic Chief and Chief of the Otolaryngology Service. He served as the Chief of Surgical Services for the 121st Combat Support Hospital and Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital at USAG Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea.

Dr. Harsha’s surgical interests include surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands as well as salivary glands and advanced head and neck cancer. His medical interests are in snoring and obstructive sleep apnea surgery as well as sinus and allergy.
