Overview

Chad Ruffin, MD, is board certified in otolaryngology. He provides surgical care for ear and hearing disorders; issues with sinuses, nasal breathing, and sleep apnea; and tonsils, voice, thyroid, and head and neck tumors/cancer. His surgical training was completed at Indiana University, one of the most rigorous otolaryngology residency programs. He received research grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, and the National Institutes of Health. He has published in multiple journals and his advocacy efforts were recognized by Science. As an honored attendee at the American Academy of Achievement, he shared the challenges of hearing loss with heads of state and other luminaries. He has also shared his insights at the Exponential Medicine Conference hosted by Singularity University.

Dr. Ruffin is among the first people born deaf to become a surgeon, and he has a particular passion for helping those with hearing loss achieve their goals. To improve hearing healthcare, he complements his surgical practice as an auditory neuroscientist, hearing technology innovator, and a mentor to d/Deaf healthcare students.
