Overview
Camille M. Clinton, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, knee, and shoulder surgery. She believes all patients should be treated as individuals, and while multiple patients may have the same injury or problem, each person is unique. In order for a patient to have the best outcome, she draws on her knowledge and technical expertise to give them her patients excellent treatment, but also tailor that treatment to their specific goals.
Whether a patient is a weekend warrior, competitive athlete, or retiree, Dr. Clinton works to get them back to their desired activities as quickly and safely as possible. Many injuries can be treated non-operatively, and she always explores non-operative treatments first when possible. When operative treatment is needed she applies the latest minimally invasive techniques. She educates her patients so they have a good understanding of their orthopedic problem and then collaborates with them to devise the optimal treatment plan.
She understands that a successful surgery is only part of what is required for an excellent outcome. The post-operative recovery and rehabilitation is crucial to the success of most procedures. To this end, she believes it is critical to remain supportive and involved in patient care until recovery is complete.
Dr. Clinton has worked with orthopedic surgeons in the Women’s Sports Medicine Center at the Hospital for Special Surgery and assisted the team physicians for the WNBA New York Liberty. A previous collegiate athlete, she has a special interest in women’s sports medicine and orthopedics.
